The homeland of carob fruit is Turkey, Yemen and Syria. In other words, it grows naturally in regions where the Mediterranean climate prevails. Later, it was taken from Turkey and started to be grown in some European countries.
Carob has a wide variety of uses. It is widely used in pastry, as tea and even in the petrochemical industry.
The countries to which Turkey exports the most carob products are Saudi Arabia, Israel and South Korea.
